DCPS is committed to building inclusive school communities for students with IEPs in all eight wards of the city. We align our self-contained special education classrooms to high school feeder patterns. DCPS self-contained special education classroom seats are assigned through an internal administrative process. Students who need a high-level of special education services are assigned a location of services at or close to their neighborhood school by the Division of Specialized Instruction. If your child needs a self-contained classroom seat, contact your local school special education representative.
