Special Education Performance Report
Each September, the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) releases its Special Education Performance Report (SEPR) to all local education agencies (LEAs) in the District of Columbia. This report is designed to evaluate the performance of an LEA’s special education program. The SEPR provides individual LEA data as well as state data and targets in numerous key measures of special education.
The report is designed to provide LEAs and families with meaningful information about LEA progress toward improving outcomes for students with disabilities. Additionally, this report will help inform practice improvements at the LEA and school level and will allow the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) to make data-driven decisions to support LEAs as they build educator and system capacity to serve students with disabilities.
For more information as well as to view DCPS’ specific report, please visit OSSE's Special Education Performance Report Website. For additional information about the purpose and mission of SEPR, please reference a one-page overview of SEPR available below. If you have additional questions, please email dcps.specialed@k12.dc.gov.
